Batumi Int’l Art-House Filmfest to host ‘Bandar Band’

Iranian film ‘Bandar Band’ has been selected to compete at the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) in Georgia.

Directed by Manijeh Hekmat, ‘Bandar Band’ is a road movie that depicts flooded landscapes of Iran. The movie is filled with music.

The cast of the film includes Reza Koulqani, Amir-Hossein Taheri, Mahdieh Mousavi, and Pegah Ahangarani.

The movie took part in a number of international film festivals already, including the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, the 2021 Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 2021 Kolkata International Film Festival in India, and the 2021 Boston Festival of Films in the US.

According to the BIAFF, “The mission of BIAFF is to be an international event designed to enhance cultural exchange, understanding, and collaboration through the screening of new art house-house and non-commercial films from Georgia and abroad”.

The event will be held on September 18-24, 2021.
